KT&T Celebrates Black History Month!

David N. Crosthwait, JR (May 27, 1898 – February 25, 1976) was a mechanical and electrical engineer. In 1913, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University. In 1920, he received a Masters in Engineering, also from Purdue. In the 1920's and 1930's he invented a vacuum pump, a boiler, and a thermostat control, all to more efficiently heat large buildings.

He created the heating systems for Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. He holds 39 patents in the United States, and 80 international patents.

He was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2014.
