KT&T Celebrates Black History Month!
Alice H. Parker was born in 1895 in Morristown, NJ. She attended classes at Howard University and, in 1919, patented a central heating system using natural gas. This was a revolutionary advancement at the time, made an even greater achievement considering she was an African American woman with many opportunities closed off to her.
Parker’s legacy endures with the annual Alice H. Parker Women Leaders in Innovation Awards via the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes the contributions of women to innovation in New Jersey, Parker’s home state
